This song also serves as a reminder to be civil to people, no matter how messed up they might seem. It's not so easy to do when you're young, but imagine if the older kids had let you in on what to do and how to act, instead of thumping on ya, like they probably did do.
Also, even though this is one of my oldest songs, I still really like it. I just don't necessarily like to play protest-type music live anymore... Well, for the last few years anyway.
When he stepped out of line
we knew that we could lose him
He had memories to find
And he that he could lose them
So he said to himself
It'd be a better resolution
To unwind from himself
Give the world his conclusion
Kill the races
Kill the
Kill the order, don't know where my place is
Can't regret their haunting faces
Kill the dreams 'cause I know I won't make
Think you know who to name
To alleviate your burden?
Think you know who to blame
Kill the changes
Kill the races
Kill the order, don't know where my place is
Can't regret their haunting faces
Kill the dreams 'cause I know I can't make it
Listen. Dear God make them listen to me.
If there's a truth, it's that we all need to believe
We are loved. We
We are loved. We
We are loved. We
We are loved. We
Help with changes.
Help through races.
Let them figure out where their place is.
Don't neglect/forget their haunting faces.
Let them dream, and I bet they'll make it.
